Watch Dial Art from Across the Globe
Quite often, the world's largest luxury watch brands release limited edition mind-blowing dials that knock your socks off. These brands have deep pockets and employ highly skilled artisans to make dials that are handcrafted and can take hundreds of hours to complete. I enjoy keeping up with the brands that produce outrageous dials and often take inspiration from their joie de vivre and whimsical natures.
The Art of Hand Engraving
I've had stars in my eyes about being able to offer you engraved watch cases and dials so, last week, I attended a class to learn hand engraving at the Gem Institute of America (GIA) in San Diego. In the class, I learned to engrave with a pneumatic air-driven hammer which emulates both hand pushing an engraver and the hammer and chisel techniques.
