Wind Chaser

This Wind Chaser timepiece is a symbol of freedom and exploration. The boat is heeling to port while attempting to outrun the storm. You can almost feel the wind and ocean swells. As in all of our watches, the dial is set behind sapphire glass to resist scratches and is encased in a hypoallergenic stainless steel case. The hour and minute hands are luminous (glow in the dark) with a silver or blue seconds indicator.

Meticulously crafted by hand, this Mother of Pearl, abalone and wood dial is a head turner!

For a few years in my mid 20's, I lived on a sailboat in the San Francisco Bay. It was a magical time, full of adventure and challenge. We were young, strong, and loved to push our limits.

The San Francisco Bay was an intense training ground and also a great place to meet other sailers who had incredible seafaring stories to tell. We sailed every every chance we got, playing in the white caps of the bay. Like every live-aboard, we soon wanted to take a few years off and cruise the South Pacific. We dreamt of making the loop from SF to Costa Rice, over to Australia, up to Micronesia, then Japan, over to Hawaii and back home.

We were finally ready - we equipped our boat, paid off our bills and began to get open-ocean experience by bringing racing yachts back to San Francisco from Mexico. After two successful trips, we were hired to bring a beautiful Swedish built Swan 44 up the coast.

But things didn't go as planned. It was a harrowing trip that changed the trajectory of my life. Obviously, Mother Nature had other plans for me. In San Diego I got off that boat, promptly sold my boat, and enrolled in engineering school.

Even though my South Pacific trip didn't work out (and I'm ok with that), I still have a love for sailboats and feeling the wind to adjust my course.

So, when a family member asked me to create a sailboat watch for her son, my eyes got wide and I jumped at the chance!
