I'm so happy to share that as an artist, I've reached a new level of prestige for my watch dial art.
Back in August I applied to exhibit my two dragon timepieces in an exhibition called Small Expressions, hosted by a prestigious art gallery in Port Townsend, WA. The call for applications was only open to artists in Oregon and Washington. However, the organization sending out the call was big, so I knew the competition would be fierce. In addition, I was nervous because I've never seen a watch in any gallery exhibition in the US. I know of one artist who exhibited in Paris (I built the watches for her) but other than that, it's extremely rare.
My two dragon timepieces submitted to the exhibition.
At long last, the jury results arrived and to my delight, I made the cut!
My letter said:
"Celeste Wong:
Greetings, and thank you for applying to Northwind Art’s upcoming Small Expressions show.
We are so thrilled to let you know that your submitted pieces have been accepted into the show! Jurors reviewed over 600 individual artwork submissions and you are one of the 38 artists that have been selected for exhibition."
One of 38! That made me feel proud and also quite optimistic about dreaming bigger and pushing the boundaries in 2025. Stay tuned, there is much to come!
